Wiz Alternatives: 7 Options Compared (2026)

Wiz is a capable product, and the reasons teams look past it are mostly practical. Its own site shows no prices and asks for a custom quote, and there is no free tier, only a trial or proof of concept. Google completed its acquisition of Wiz in March 2026 and has said the Wiz brand stays, which some buyers weigh when they want a vendor that is independent of a cloud provider. Others just want a price they can approve without a procurement cycle. If you already know you are choosing between Wiz and Secorvia, the head-to-head comparison is shorter.

The options at a glance

Prices and product details below were checked on 17 October 2026. Where a vendor publishes no price, the table describes how it charges instead of guessing a figure.

Orca Security

Orca's selling point is how it looks inside workloads. Its SideScanning reads a workload's block storage out of band, so it can inspect installed software without an agent on the machine. A separate sensor is available when you want runtime protection. Orca also builds attack paths across accounts and providers and scores each on exploitability and business impact.

Where it beats Secorvia: Orca reads the disks of virtual machines, containers and serverless workloads, while Secorvia's posture scanning reads configuration and metadata. If you want deep workload inspection with no installs, Orca does more.

On cost, Orca has no pricing page. Its AWS Marketplace listing shows monthly tiers from $7,000 to $30,000, sized by a starter pack of concurrent EC2 workloads. It suits mid-size and larger estates with a budget line for this, and it is independent and venture-backed.

Prisma Cloud and Cortex Cloud

Palo Alto Networks announced in February 2025 that Prisma Cloud was merging with Cortex CDR to form Cortex Cloud, which it calls the next version of Prisma Cloud. The older name still appears across its documentation, so expect both.

The appeal is breadth. The posture plan covers cloud posture, identity entitlements, data, AI and Kubernetes, and a runtime plan adds workload protection with an agent. Its docs list AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Alibaba Cloud.

Where it beats Secorvia: it connects Oracle and Alibaba accounts and carries far more modules. The cost is complexity and a sales process. Licensing counts protected workloads or credits on an annual subscription, there are no list prices, and the old trial page now shows a demo booking only. It fits large organisations already standardised on Palo Alto Networks.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud

Microsoft describes Defender for Cloud as a cloud-native application protection platform that covers Azure, AWS and Google Cloud as well as on-premises servers. Its free tier is the unusual part: Foundational CSPM gives configuration assessments, recommendations and a secure score across all three clouds at no charge.

The paid Defender CSPM plan adds attack path analysis, a cloud security explorer and risk prioritisation, billed on the resources it covers. Workload plans for servers, containers, storage and databases are separate. Microsoft states that paid plans are free for the first 30 days.

Where it beats Secorvia: a free baseline across Azure, AWS and GCP, plus code-to-cloud connectors for GitHub, Azure DevOps and GitLab. It is the natural pick when your estate is mostly Azure. Coverage on other clouds is narrower, though. For GCP, Defender CSPM bills only compute, storage buckets and Cloud SQL, so check the resource types you run.

Datadog Cloud Security

Datadog renamed Cloud Security Management to Cloud Security, and its price list still shows the old name. The product covers posture, identity entitlements, vulnerability management and compliance, and it sits on the same platform as Datadog's monitoring, so findings and telemetry live together.

It uses both the Datadog Agent and agentless scanning, and its Security Graph lets you query relationships between resources, for example public instances that can reach buckets holding sensitive data. Pricing is published. The Pro tier lists at $10 per host per month on an annual plan ($12 on demand), Enterprise at $25 ($30), plus $0.50 or $1 per container per month on annual terms. Datadog's list pricing is per host, so a large autoscaling fleet needs a forecast.

It is best for teams that already run Datadog and want security in the same place. If you do not, you are buying into a wider platform.

Tenable Cloud Security

Tenable closed its acquisition of Ermetic, a CNAPP and CIEM company, in October 2023, and the product grew out of that identity focus. Its pages describe least-privilege enforcement, toxic-combination detection and correlation of misconfigurations, entitlements and vulnerabilities. Product naming is in flux: some pages say Tenable Cloud Security and others label it Cloud Exposure, so confirm what you are being quoted for.

It scans without agents across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, with infrastructure-as-code checks for Terraform, CloudFormation and Kubernetes manifests. Tenable publishes no prices for it. You request pricing and buy through a partner or a Tenable representative, and the evaluation path is a demo.

It suits organisations that already use Tenable for vulnerability management and want identity risk handled by the same vendor. It is a sales-led purchase, and that is the main thing to weigh against a self-serve option.

Secorvia

Secorvia is a newer and much smaller product, and the comparison with Wiz is not close on maturity or breadth. What it offers is a different starting point. It connects AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and DigitalOcean with read-only access, needs no agent for posture, and has a free plan that does not expire: one account per provider, three users, no card.

The security graph and attack paths begin on Starter at $149 a month billed annually ($199 monthly), and Growth at $499 adds identity analysis and runtime security. Prices are flat plans with account and user limits, not a per-workload meter.

Where Wiz is stronger: it connects more clouds, including Oracle and Alibaba, covers far more of the stack and has a much larger customer base. Secorvia does not connect Oracle or Alibaba accounts and maps four compliance frameworks. The full detail is in the Secorvia vs Wiz comparison.

Prowler

Prowler is an open source security tool under the Apache-2.0 licence that began in 2016. It runs as a command line tool, a software development kit or a self-hosted web app, and its repository lists hundreds of checks for AWS and many for Azure and Google Cloud, plus Kubernetes, Microsoft 365, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Alibaba Cloud. It maps results to frameworks including CIS, NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA and SOC 2. The latest release at the time of checking was 5.45.0, published on 15 October 2026.

The same team sells Prowler Cloud, a hosted service. Its pricing page lists $99 per cloud account per month on monthly billing, with a discount for annual, and a seven-day trial with no card.

Where it beats Secorvia: it is free to run, covers more providers and carries more checks. The trade-off is that you operate it yourself unless you pay for the hosted version.

How to choose

Start from your constraint, not from a feature list.

  • Price and procurement. If you need to start without a call, the realistic options are Secorvia's free plan, Defender for Cloud's free baseline, a Prowler trial, or the open source tool itself.
  • Mostly Azure. Look at Defender for Cloud first. The integration and the free baseline are hard to match.
  • Already on Datadog or Tenable. Check what your existing vendor now sells before adding a new one, since consolidation often decides the matter.
  • Oracle or Alibaba Cloud in the estate. Cortex Cloud and Prowler list support. Secorvia does not connect either.
  • Deep workload inspection with no agents. Orca's approach is built for exactly that.
  • Small estate, tight budget, wants attack paths. Compare the per-account price of Prowler Cloud with Secorvia's flat plans, and try the free tier of each against one real account.

Whichever you pick, evaluate it on your own account for a week. The question is not which product has the longer feature list. It is which one shows you a short, believable set of things to fix. If attack paths are the point, attack path analysis explains what to look for.
