Connect an AWS account

Configure AWS IAM role or access-key authentication in Secorvia and verify the connected account and first scan.

Reviewed

Before you start

Have an AWS account you can authorize, its 12-digit account ID, and an approved scanner role or IAM credential. This guide documents Secorvia fields; use your approved AWS policy and trust configuration.

Select the AWS authentication method

Open Cloud Accounts → Add Cloud Account. Enter Account Name and choose AWS: IAM Role (Assume Role) — recommended or AWS: IAM Access Key.

Enter the AWS identifiers

Enter the 12-digit AWS Account ID. With role authentication, enter the IAM Role ARN and External ID required by your role trust configuration. Use the exact values approved for this integration.

Complete credentials and region

For access-key authentication, supply Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. Choose the Default Region. The form validates the access-key format; a correctly formatted key still needs valid permissions in AWS.

Connect and verify collection

Submit the form, then check Connection Status and Last Validated on the account detail. Open its Scan History and wait for the first scan to complete. Review Inventory and Findings for this account before connecting additional accounts.

Where you are now

You have a verified AWS connection with a traceable first scan and account-scoped results.

WHEN SOMETHING LOOKS OFF

A few things to check

Account ID is rejected

Enter exactly 12 digits, without spaces or an alias.

Role authentication fails

Check the role ARN, external ID, trust relationship, and the scanner permissions with the AWS administrator. Do not switch to broadly privileged credentials as a workaround.
