Connect a Google Cloud project

Connect a GCP project using a service account JSON key and review the resulting cloud security inventory and findings.

Reviewed

Before you start

Have the project ID and an authorized service account JSON key for the project. Treat the complete JSON as a secret.

Choose GCP authentication

Open Add Cloud Account, name the connection, and select GCP: Service Account Key.

Enter the project ID

Use the actual Project ID, not its display name or numeric project number. The form expects 6–30 lowercase letters, digits, or hyphens, starting with a letter.

Paste the full service account JSON

In Service Account Key (JSON), paste the complete downloaded key file and enter the region if applicable. Do not remove fields or share the key in screenshots, tickets, or source control. The form encrypts it before storage.

Connect and inspect the first scan

Submit the connection, verify its status, and open Scan History. When the first scan completes, review Inventory filtered to GCP and the selected account, then investigate any findings.

Where you are now

The GCP project is connected and you can verify its collected resources and security findings.

WHEN SOMETHING LOOKS OFF

A few things to check

JSON is rejected

Paste the full service account key JSON, including its braces and escaped newlines.

A scan cannot read resources

Check the service account permissions and project scope with your Google Cloud administrator.
